[Sports Today reporter Sang-pil Lee] KT Wiz handed the NC Dinos a 6-2 loss in an exhibition game on March 22 at KT Wiz Park in Suwon as part of the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League preseason.
KT extended its exhibition winning streak to three and moved to 4-2-4, sitting at .500. NC dropped its second straight, falling to 4-1-5.
Hilliard paced KT’s lineup with two hits and a run, while Hyun-soo Kim contributed one hit and two RBIs. Starter Sauer gave KT a solid outing, working five innings, allowing five hits, striking out four, issuing two walks and surrendering two runs.
NC starter Koo Chang-mo opened with two scoreless innings, recording one strikeout and a walk. But reliever Won Jong-hae struggled in relief, yielding three hits, issuing three walks, striking out three and allowing five runs (none earned) in one inning.
NC struck first in the top of the second. After two outs, Kim Hyung-jun and Go Seung-wan delivered hits and a wild pitch moved runners into scoring position. Choi Jeong-won followed with an RBI single to put NC up 2-0.
KT responded in the bottom of the third. An error set the table, Hilliard added a hit, and a hit-by-pitch to Choi Won-jun loaded the bases with two outs. Hyun-soo Kim ripped a two-run single to even the score.
KT seized control from there. With two outs and runners at the corners, an NC error produced a run, and Jang Seong-woo’s RBI single pushed the lead further. After Kim Sang-su was hit by a pitch to load the bases again, Huh Kyung-min drew a bases-loaded walk to force in another run and give KT a 5-2 advantage.
Sauer settled in to protect the lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Jang Seong-woo walked, Kim Sang-su reached and Huh Kyung-min was hit by a pitch to create a bases-loaded, no-out situation. Han Seung-taek then hit into a double play, allowing the run from third to score and extending the lead to 6-2.
With the outcome in hand, KT turned to its bullpen. Woo Kyu-min, Park Ji-hun, Han Seung-hyeok and Park Young-hyun each threw a scoreless inning to close out the game. The contest ended with KT on top, 6-2.
