Jeonju City met with residents to develop concrete implementation strategies for its Olympic bid.
On the 27th, the Support Coordination Committee of the Jeonju Olympic Bid Citizens’ Support Committee held its second meeting at the Korean Traditional Culture Center. About 20 people, including committee members and Jeonju city officials, attended to share updates on the bid and discuss next steps.
At the first coordination meeting, members identified key priorities: expanding public support, strengthening outreach and communications, building sectoral cooperation systems, and developing citizen participation programs. They also agreed to establish an integrated public-private implementation framework.
At the second meeting, participants reviewed progress on the tasks set at the first meeting and concentrated on fleshing out stage-by-stage implementation strategies and specific action items. In-depth discussions focused on boosting outreach and citizen engagement, clarifying roles among agencies and organizations, and reinforcing cooperative networks.
Participants also emphasized the need for a distinctive bid strategy rooted in Jeonju’s traditional cultural assets and urban identity, and committed to pursuing a sustainable, citizen-centered campaign.
A Jeonju city official said, “We will rally broad public support around the Support Coordination Committee to strengthen the foundation for Jeonju’s Olympic bid,” adding, “We will continue to implement our step-by-step strategy systematically to deliver tangible results.”
