Flutist Jeehee Han, the first classical artist signed to SM Entertainment’s classical and jazz imprint SM Classics, concluded the \”Jeehee Han — Deutsche Grammophon Album Release Concert\” to strong acclaim.
The program marked the release of Han’s debut album on Deutsche Grammophon, one of the most prestigious labels in classical music. Six varied works filled the evening, including a centerpiece by Carl Reinecke. World-renowned pianist Lang Lang, who appears on the album, joined Han for duo performances, and conductor Kim Sun-wook led the SM Classics Town Orchestra in a new collaboration that deepened the program’s impact.
In the first half, Lang Lang opened with a bold, free-spirited reading of Chopin’s mazurka. He and Han then partnered on Reinecke’s Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 167 “Undine,” a track from the new album.
In the second half, Kim Sun-wook and the SM Classics Town Orchestra heightened the hall’s energy with Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, the “Classical” Symphony. The evening reached its peak when Han joined the orchestra as soloist in Carl Reinecke’s Flute Concerto in D major. Han’s fluid technique, Kim’s meticulous direction, and the orchestra’s lush sound drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
With this performance, Han demonstrated the full range of her artistry as a flutist and reaffirmed her strong standing and stylistic breadth as a classical musician.
Han is an artist on SM Classics. She performs actively as a member of the chamber ensemble PACE and as a soloist.
