The Mokpo City Symphony Orchestra will mark Family Month with the “2026 Family Month Commemorative Concert,” a program designed for audiences of all ages.
The orchestra will perform on May 9 at 4 p.m. in the small theater at the Mokpo Citizens’ Culture and Sports Center. The program blends classical repertoire with popular music across a varied lineup.
The concert opens with Fritz Kreisler’s “Liebesfreud” and selected variations (Theme; Variations 1, 4, 8, 9, 11 and 12) from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Ah! vous dirai‑je, maman,” presenting familiar, elegant classical melodies.
Following that, a brass ensemble and the orchestra will offer fresh arrangements of beloved pieces such as “Nemo’s Dream,” “The Octopus’s Dream” and “Airplane,” giving the audience a new listening experience.
The program concludes with Sergei Prokofiev’s musical tale “Peter and the Wolf,” performed with narration. The vivid storytelling combined with the orchestra’s performance is intended to ignite children’s musical imagination while entertaining the whole family.
A spokesperson for the Mokpo City Symphony Orchestra said, “We prepared this concert as a family event that both children and adults can enjoy together. We hope it provides families with a warm moment shared through music.”
Admission is free and open to the public. Advance tickets will be available through Ticketlink starting on the 24th.
