Students at the Daejeon Arts Center’s Music Gifted Academy have recently distinguished themselves with awards at several national music competitions.
Violin student Kim Li‑won captured first place in the elementary 5th–6th grade violin division at the 31st Music Chunchu Competition on the 15th. He earlier took the overall top prize in the strings category at the Music Education Newspaper’s Daejeon·Sejong branch competition and has maintained a string of strong performances.

Piano student Ahn Ye‑in tied for third in the elementary division at the 75th Ewha‑Kyunghyang Music Competition on the 9th. She has also placed highly at the Samick·Zaier Competition, the Music Journal Competition, the Yukyoung Competition, and the Youngsan Young Artist Music Competition. Last year she appeared in the Signature Daejeon Avent Series and performed with the City Philharmonic, maintaining an active concert schedule.
The Music Chunchu Competition and the Ewha‑Kyunghyang Music Competition are leading national contests that draw promising young musicians from across South Korea. Judges praised both students for their solid technique and exceptional musicality.
Lee Young‑shin, director of the Daejeon Arts Center, said the students’ steady work and growth have yielded meaningful results. \”I hope they continue to bring their music to larger stages,\” she added.
