Musician Hitchhiker and Jin Choi will co-host HYBE’s new video podcast. The father-and-daughter duo will examine music from different generational perspectives, share fresh inspirations and build a rapport rooted in their shared love of music.
HYBE announced the new program on April 10 by releasing a trailer on the Spotify channel STAN:A. Titled Music’s Meddling, STAN:A’s second podcast lineup will premiere its first episode on the 24th at 6 p.m. and will air new episodes every other week.
Music’s Meddling is a music commentary show co-hosted by producer Hitchhiker and singer-songwriter Jin Choi. Built on the premise that everyday music “meddles” in our lives, the series aims to explore everything about the music that has become part of our daily experience.
Each episode centers on a music-related theme and takes a multiangled approach through conversations with guests from a range of fields. The program will cover not only music-making but also the social phenomena and cultural trends music generates. For the premiere, Yoona and Minju of the group AilLit will discuss how today’s generation consumes music.
The trailer—shot in a vlog style by Jin Choi—places the hosts’ personal story at its center. It pieces together photos and videos from Jin Choi’s childhood to the present, documenting everyday moments with her father, Hitchhiker.
The footage shows Hitchhiker and Jin Choi dancing, taking selfies and joking around like close friends. It also traces Jin Choi’s upbringing—moving between Hitchhiker’s stages and studios as if they were a playground—where she naturally encountered keyboards, drums, guitars and other instruments, forming a musical bond through hands-on experience.
Jin Choi, who produced the video, narrates, “We’re doing this podcast because we love music,” adding, “I’m happy to talk about music with my dad, who’s also my best friend.” Having shared a long musical connection, the pair are expected to bring a chemistry that bridges generations to the show.
HYBE Media Studio said, “Combining the hosts’ musical expertise with fresh perspectives from guests in diverse fields will allow us to spotlight music from new, expanded viewpoints. We plan to invite unexpected guests to look at music through different lenses and help audiences discover new meanings and charms.”
Hitchhiker previously served as a member and producer of the band Rollercoaster and has produced numerous K-pop hits—including BoA’s “GAME,” Girls’ Generation’s “Show! Show! Show!,” f(x)’s “Pinocchio” and Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra.” He currently works as a producer at HYBE. Co-host Jin Choi is an emerging singer-songwriter who, at age 15 in 2024, released her debut album mom!!iminlove, writing and composing every track herself.
HYBE Media Studio, which operates the video podcast channel STAN:A, plans to continue rolling out podcast programs on a variety of subjects following the mystery-thriller Blood Diary and the music commentary series Music’s Meddling.
