[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] K-pop supergroup BTS took first place on MBC’s Show! Music Core.
On the April 11 broadcast of MBC’s Show! Music Core, BTS’s \”SWIM\” was nominated alongside Wonpil’s \”Sarang Ward\” and Harts to Hearts’ \”RUDE!\” for the week’s top spot.
According to the show’s tally, BTS’s \”SWIM\” scored 5,494 points for digital and album sales, 1,300 for video and broadcast, 755 from pre-voting, and 983 from live voting, for a total of 8,532 points, securing first place. Harts to Hearts’ \”RUDE!\” finished second with 6,214 points, while Wonpil’s \”Sarang Ward\” placed third with 3,912 points.
BTS’s new single \”SWIM\” has posted strong results on global charts, including the U.S. Billboard and the U.K. Official Charts, and has racked up high streaming numbers on Spotify. Their latest release, \”Arirang,\” simultaneously topped both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 on the April 4 charts; on the Billboard 200, BTS became the first Korean act to hold the No. 1 spot for two consecutive weeks.
The episode also featured performances by Hwasa, Irene, Dayoung, Kep1er, Jang Han-eum, KISS OF LIFE, YOUNG POSSE, AMPERS&ONE, RESCENE, DIGNITY, KickFlip, cosmosy, Baby DONT Cry, KEYVITUP, hrtz.wav, and S2IT.
