[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] The K-pop supergroup BTS has announced stadium dates across major South American cities.
On March 28, the band posted detailed information about WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LATIN AMERICA on the global fan platform Weverse. The tour kicks off in Bogotá, Colombia, this October and will include 11 shows across five South American cities: Bogotá, Lima (Peru), Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and São Paulo (Brazil).
This will be BTS’s first visit to Colombia, Peru and Argentina as a full group. Jin previously appeared in Buenos Aires in October 2022 as a guest during Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres world tour, where he performed his solo single \”The Astronaut.\”
Peru’s leading daily El Comercio described BTS as one of the 21st century’s most influential cultural phenomena in its preview of the Lima concert, predicting the shows will generate a meaningful local economic impact beyond the music itself.
The ARIRANG world tour has continued to sell out rapidly at each stop. The April 17–18 dates at Tokyo Dome are sold out, and a total of 46 shows—including already sold-out dates in Goyang, North America and Europe—have sold out. Live Nation reports BTS sold roughly 2.4 million tickets across 41 North American and European dates.
Meanwhile, BTS’s fifth studio album ARIRANG, released on March 20, is charting strongly worldwide. The album debuted at No. 1 on the UK Official Albums Top 100 (chart dated March 27–April 3). The title track \”SWIM\” reached No. 2 on the Official Singles Top 100, marking a new peak for the group. The album also topped France’s SNEP Top Albums chart (March 20–26). On Germany’s Offizielle Deutsche Charts (dated March 27), both the album and the title track hit No. 1 on the album and singles charts, respectively—surpassing their previous German singles best, \”Butter,\” which peaked at No. 6. In Australia, ARIRANG claimed the top spots on both the ARIA Top 50 Albums and the Vinyl Chart.
