[Sports Today Reporter Kim Tae-hyung] SBS is retooling its flagship music show for a road-ready special.
The network announced on March 23 that it will stage Inkigayo ON THE GO at Paradise City in Incheon on April 26.
Inkigayo ON THE GO aims to recreate the energy and emotion of the live broadcasts held at SBS’s Deungchon-dong public hall while taking the program directly to K-pop fans wherever they are. The project pushes beyond studio-bound music shows, staging live, on-site performances in expanded spaces that encourage direct interaction between artists and audiences.
Paradise City Plaza — a mixed-use complex that combines cultural and commercial facilities — features an indoor-outdoor layout that promises viewing experiences rarely available in traditional televised music shows.
Organizers frame the project as more than a concert: it’s an experiment in extending K-pop content across platforms. By fusing television broadcast with live events, they say the initiative will offer fans at home and abroad a more immersive, multidimensional K-pop experience.
An SBS official said, “Inkigayo ON THE GO expands the conventional music-show format by bringing the program directly to fans and engaging with them. We plan to continue presenting K-pop content in diverse spaces and formats.”
The artist lineup for the April 26 show will be announced in stages.
