Park Kyung-gu, an original member of the popular Korean indie band Busker Busker and current member of Algenity, has passed away at the age of 38. On the 7th, Park’s cousin shared the heartbreaking news via the late musician’s social media accounts, stating, “It’s still hard to believe, but I’m sharing this obituary on behalf of the family.” Fans have been reminiscing about Jang Beom-jun’s touching gesture last March when he released his fourth album, “The History of the Loser.” At that time, Jang had posted a message wishing for Kyung-gu’s improved health. Park and Jang were high school classmates, and Park played a pivotal role in shaping Busker Busker’s early sound. He composed several of the band’s beloved hits, including “The Person Who Suits the Word Love,” “Blues at Exit 2 of Sinpung Station,” “Ending of the Fallen Leaves,” and “Between Hongdae and Konkuk University.” In the wake of Park’s untimely passing, Jang Beom-jun paid tribute to his former bandmate by uploading a video titled “Park Kyung-gu Best Live Clip” on his YouTube channel.
