A fresh vantage-point stroll has arrived in the heart of Incheon’s historic downtown. The Incheon Subong Park Skywalk officially opened on March 26, 2026, and it’s the kind of new spot where you can take in cityscapes, park forest and distant views toward the West Sea without heading out to the suburbs.

Unlike a single, static observation tower, this skywalk traces the park’s summit, so you experience the scenery while walking above the treetops rather than looking down from one fixed platform. It’s free to enter, making it an easy, low-commitment outing, and visitor numbers climbed quickly after the opening. The Skywalk has already become a go-to for locals seeking a fresh daytime view or a memorable night stroll.

The Subong Park Skywalk sits along the summit ridge of Subong Park in Michuhol District. The city invested 5.5 billion KRW (approximately 4.125 million USD) to build a 310m (about 1,017 ft) long walkway that’s 1.8m (about 5.9 ft) wide and rises as high as 20m (about 65.6 ft) above the ground. By taking advantage of Subongsan’s steep slopes, the trail cantilevers out over the landscape, creating a treetop experience that puts you roughly level with the trees.

Instead of constructing one massive tower, designers followed the park’s natural contours. That approach opens up views at intervals, allowing the urban skyline and the wooded park to blend together as you walk. The structure is impressive but user-friendly: lace up your sneakers, stroll the 310m sky path and snap photos—this is an urban lookout made for easy, stylish outings.

Subong Park is set on the slopes of Subongsan, which peaks at 104m (about 341 ft). It’s not a towering mountain, but because it rises from the original downtown, the summit opens up pleasantly wide sightlines. From the skywalk you can soak in Incheon’s urban sprawl, the park’s tree canopy and distant views toward the West Sea.

What really sells this spot is how accessible it is. You don’t have to trek into remote hills to get a treetop view—you can do it right in the city. It’s perfect for a low-effort weekend escape: comfortable in sneakers, quick to visit, and free to enter. Those conveniences have helped the Skywalk spread fast by word of mouth as a must-see in Incheon.

Visitors surge within a month of opening

The response was immediate after the March opening. In about a month, Subong Park recorded over 80,000 visitors—an increase of 237% compared with the same period last year. The numbers speak to the new attraction’s pull.

The appeal is straightforward. First, admission is free. Second, it’s easy to reach from the Seoul metro area. Third, it’s incredibly photogenic: a long, elevated walkway, city views framed above the trees, and a nightscape that really comes alive after dark. In short, it offers a fresh perspective without the hassle of a long trip.

An Incheon night-view destination

The skywalk is just as rewarding after sunset. Subong Park is already known for its evening charm—an illuminated artificial waterfall, a lit transmission tower and thoughtfully placed lighting make the park glow. It’s an ideal spot to arrive in the afternoon and stay through dusk for those Instagram-worthy night shots.

The park also includes family-friendly and recreational facilities: a children’s playground, a nature study area, an archery range, badminton courts, tennis courts and a basketball court. Historical monuments—like the Memorial Tower, the Monument to the Korean-Japanese Student Volunteer Corps and the Incheon District War Memorial—are on site, too. Together, these elements make Subong Park more than an observation point: it’s a compact downtown destination where you can walk, soak up history and enjoy a nightscape in one visit.

If you’re hunting for a new easy day trip in Incheon this year, put the Subong Park Skywalk near the top of your list. For 5.5 billion KRW, the city created a 310m (about 1,017 ft) sky path you can walk for free—catch city views by day and the park’s dramatic nightscape after dark.
