Haeoreum Housing, an affiliate of Geumseong Baekjo, developed Yemiji Country Club (Yemiji CC). The club celebrated its grand opening on the 25th and has officially opened its doors.

About 100 guests attended the ceremony, including Geumseong Baekjo executives and staff, rising golfer Lee Soo-min (a sophomore at Cheonan Central Affiliated Broadcasting High School), JDX CEO Kim Han-chul, and representatives from roughly 30 partner companies involved in development and construction.

Jeong Dae-sik, vice chairman of Geumseong Baekjo, said, “We aim to become the central region’s premier golf destination — a refined escape where players can enjoy rounds that echo the rhythms of Chilgapsan.” He added, “We will carry forward the Yemiji brand’s philosophy, put customer satisfaction first, and hope this new premium leisure facility will energize Cheongyang County’s local economy and boost stay-based tourism around Chilgap Lake.”

Yemiji CC is a 27-hole public golf course located at 268 Jujeon-ro, Daechi-myeon, Cheongyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. It sits on about 1.3 million m² (roughly 321 acres) along the slopes of Chilgapsan.

Eighteen holes opened at the ceremony; the remaining nine are scheduled to open later this year.

Cheongyang native Lee Soo-min, fresh off an international victory, also attended. Geumseong Baekjo has sponsored her since 2021, and she currently serves on the national reserve team.

“I’m thrilled that Yemiji CC has opened in my hometown, Cheongyang,” Lee said. “I’m especially happy to be here right after my tournament win. I’m grateful to everyone who helped me focus on training, and I’ll keep working to become an even better player.”

Yemiji CC officially opened with a ribbon-cutting and the unveiling of the course marker.

The facility features three distinct courses — Ye, Mi, and Ji — all designed by Orange Golf Design.

The Ye course captures the dynamic beauty of the Chilgapsan ridge with bold, rhythmic lines. The Mi course is more strategic, testing players with valleys and water-lined holes. The Ji course follows gentle rolling hills, offering wide sightlines and a relaxed, enjoyable round.

Turf choices are tailored to playability: zoysia-type grass for tees, fairways, and roughs; bentgrass on the greens; and Kentucky bluegrass for the collar areas.

The clubhouse and golf hotel, Yemiji Stay, were designed by Gansam Architects. The hotel has 34 rooms in total — 16 studio-style doubles and 18 two-room units for four — and has been receiving many inquiries for one-night, two-day holiday packages ahead of the May break.

Positioned in the inland heart of the Chungcheong region, Yemiji CC offers easy access from major nearby cities like Daejeon, Sejong, and Gongju, as well as from North and South Chungcheong provinces, North Jeolla, and southern Gyeonggi.

To celebrate the grand opening, the club is running additional time-based discounts through next month. Tee times can be booked via the website.
