The Public reporter Oh Hong-ji wrote that on the 20th, Goesan County announced it had taken the top marketing award at the 6th Korea Representative Festival Expo, which ran for three days starting on the 17th at the Suwon Convention Center.
The expo brings together flagship festivals from municipalities across the country under one roof.
Goesan operated a promotional booth to showcase next month’s \”Red Flavor Festival\” and to spotlight its Chili Pepper and Kimchi festivals to visitors from across Korea.
In particular, the Goesan Kimchi Festival, recently selected as Chungcheongbuk-do’s top festival, proved a crowd favorite.
Officials emphasized the nationwide reputation of Goesan’s salted napa cabbage and chili peppers—essentials for kimchi—to spotlight the quality of the region’s agricultural products.
The booth turned heads with generous giveaways and hands-on events.
Activities included a giant air-ball game, nostalgic prize-draws, and a chili-candy tasting corner to keep the energy high.
Participants received gochugaru (red pepper flakes), mixed grains, travel-size tissue packs, and other local specialties—small tokens meant to convey Goesan’s warm hospitality and the excellence of its produce.
A county official said, \”We’re thrilled to share Goesan’s signature festivals with a national audience. From the upcoming Red Flavor Festival to the autumn Chili Pepper Festival and the Kimchi Festival, we’ll do our best to ensure visitors have a memorable experience.\”
Goesan will host the 2026 Goesan Red Flavor Festival from the 22nd to the 24th of next month at the Goesan Organic Expo Plaza and along the Dongjincheon riverside. Under the theme \”Red Excitement in Goesan,\” organizers plan a vivid mix of spring blooms and spicy foods, offering plenty of eye-catching displays and tasty bites.
