Broadcaster Noh Hong-chul headed to Nicaragua and Guatemala in Central America, tried volcano sledding, and captured the jaw-dropping sight of a volcano that erupts every 10 minutes.
In a video uploaded on the 2nd to his YouTube channel ‘Noh Hong-chul’, he tried volcano sledding in Nicaragua, then climbed Guatemala’s Acatenango and witnessed a volcanic eruption up close for the first time.
His first stop was León, Nicaragua. There he tried volcano boarding—riding a single board down slopes of volcanic ash.

Surrounded by young travelers from around the world, Noh lifted the mood with his trademark positivity and soaked up the volcano’s heat on his skin.
Although he tumbled down a steep slope and scraped his legs and face, he joked that he’d had an hour-long close encounter with the volcano—and that he loved it.
Even while tending to his injuries, he raved about the local handmade burgers and bread, embracing the unexpected moments as part of the adventure.
After the adrenaline rush in Nicaragua, he traveled 18 hours to Guatemala for an even bigger challenge.
His ultimate goal was to summit Acatenango—the volcano from a photo that had inspired him. The trek up to base camp, over 3,700 m (about 12,140 ft), was grueling.
When fellow hikers debated turning back because of thin air and steep trails, Noh showed his warmth—lending clothing and encouraging his companions along the way.
At base camp, he watched Fuego rise above the clouds, roaring and spewing red lava every 10 minutes. He said, \”I feel like I’m in heaven,\” and was left speechless by nature’s overwhelming grandeur.
He capped the trip with a bike ride through the Valley of Fire near Las Vegas.
Reflecting on the tour, Noh described the fiery energy he gathered as part of a journey—from the Himalayas to Kilimanjaro and now Central America’s volcanoes—that keeps rolling like a roly-poly.

He promised another adventure, saying, \”Just as one photo led me to these experiences, meeting new people and trying new things will keep growing my life’s energy.\”
Noh’s volcano expedition was more than a thrill ride; it was a reminder that actively seeking challenges can recharge and energize your life.
