On June 2, The Guardian released its 2025–26 UEFA Champions League Team of the Year, naming one player per club to the Best XI. Champions League winners PSG placed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the list.

Tottenham finished fourth in the Champions League phase, and Porro stood out as an overlapping wing-back. The report also mentioned recent links between Porro and a potential return to Manchester City.
Tottenham fought to stay in the Premier League until the final matchday and secured survival with a season-ending win over Everton, ultimately finishing 17th. In the Champions League, Spurs advanced from the group stage—placing fourth among 36 teams and reaching the Round of 16—but were knocked out after conceding seven goals across two legs against Atlético Madrid.
Porro’s future is drawing attention ahead of the summer transfer window. Football365 reported on June 3 that Real Madrid plans to recruit a right wing-back this summer and has identified Porro as a target, rating him highly. Manchester City has shown interest as well, but Tottenham reportedly has no intention of selling; the club wants Porro to remain, and manager De Zerbi views him as a key part of the project.
