[MyDaily = Reporter Noh Chan-hyeok] Manchester United are showing interest in signing Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.
British outlet Cut Offside reported on May 21 (KST) that Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Newcastle’s left-back, Hall.
Luke Shaw finished the season fit, but with Tyrell Malacia likely to leave, United need to secure reliable cover at left-back. Patrick Dorgu, who joined last season, has often been used as a winger, which has increased the club’s desire to recruit a natural left-sided defender.
United, who have tracked players such as Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Malik Diouf (West Ham) and Alejandro Balde (Barcelona), have added Hall to their shortlist.

Hall, who is English, primarily plays as a left-back. He brings energy going forward and helps the attack with left-footed crosses and progressive passing.
A Chelsea academy product, Hall made his senior debut in the 2021–22 season. After recording just 11 appearances in 2022–23, he moved to Newcastle.
Since joining Newcastle he has become a key defensive figure. He scored twice in 22 appearances in his first season, featured 34 times the following campaign, and this season played 45 official matches, registering one goal and two assists. Those performances have put him on United’s radar.

Cut Offside adds that Hall is open to a summer move and that Manchester United director Jason Wilcox holds him in high regard. If Hall is involved in World Cup duty, United may need to wait until his international commitments conclude.
The main hurdle is the transfer fee. Newcastle are said to value Hall at £55 million (about 83.25 million USD / 111 billion KRW (about 83.25 million USD)). The report adds that Newcastle are reluctant to let him go despite United’s interest.
