San Francisco Giants outfielder Lee Jung-hoo, who left the May 19 game (Korean time) with a back cramp, will undergo additional testing.According to MLB.com, manager Tony Vaitello said after the game that Lee will receive more detailed examinations. “We removed him in the fourth inning to protect him,” Vaitello said, adding that Lee is likely to miss tomorrow’s (May 20) game. That would make him a probable absence for the Giants’ matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 20 (Korean time).Lee was the leadoff hitter and started in right field in the May 19 road game in Arizona but was replaced by Will Brennan before the bottom of the fourth. Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reported on social media that Lee left the game because of a back cramp. The Giants already have holes in the outfield; starting left fielder Randy Arozarena Ramos has been out since May 17 with a left quadriceps strain. MLB.com noted that the team’s most urgent priority is shoring up defensive stability. If Lee misses extended time, the Giants will have to lean more on their bench and outfield depth, raising concerns about defensive consistency with key players sidelined. In his rookie season in 2024, Lee suffered a shoulder injury while fielding, underwent surgery and finished that season early. Since returning, he has not been placed on the injured list.#LeeJungHoo #SanFrancisco #MLBYonhapNews TV inquiries and tips: KakaoTalk/LINE jebo23, Lee Chowon (grass@yna.co.kr)
