[SPOTV News=Gwangju, Hye-mi Kwak] Daegu Namdo Elementary and Seoul Gadong Elementary met in a semifinal at Mudeung Baseball Stadium in Gwangju on the morning of the 14th.
In the top of the first inning, Seoul Gadong catcher Kim Yoon thwarted a double-steal attempt.
The Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA), chaired by Yang Hae-young, hosted the 3rd Presidential Cup National Youth Baseball Tournament, co-organized by the Gwangju Metropolitan City Baseball Softball Association. The event opened in grand fashion at Mudeung Baseball Stadium on the 5th.
The tournament runs 11 days, through the 15th. ‘Champion of champions’ teams — top elementary schools and youth clubs from across the country, selected based on last year’s results — have converged to battle for the national youth baseball crown.
