[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] The Cheongju KB Stars, who topped the regular season, swept their best-of-five playoff series and advanced to the championship round.
KB rolled past Asan Woori Bank 81-55 in Game 3 of the BNK Financial 2025-2026 WKBL playoffs at Asan Yi Sun-sin Gymnasium on April 12.
After taking the first two games at home, KB closed out the series on the road to complete a 3-0 sweep and punch their ticket to the finals.
The Stars will chase their third overall title, having previously won championships in 2018-19 and 2021-22.
Meanwhile, No. 4 seed Woori Bank fell short of reaching the finals and will end its season in the playoffs.
Center Park Ji-su led KB with 23 points and five rebounds. Guard Kang I-seul added 16 points, while Sara Sakai chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
For Woori Bank, Ayano Onizuka battled for 15 points, but it wasn’t enough. Team leader Kim Dan-bi managed just two points.
KB set the tone early, closing the first quarter up 20-17. In the second quarter they tightened defensively, holding Woori Bank to seven points while pouring in 25 of their own to stretch the lead to 45-24.
With control firmly in hand, KB managed the game comfortably the rest of the way as Woori Bank struggled to generate momentum.
The Stars kept a lead of 20 points or more through the second half and finished with an 81-55 rout.
