[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] Busan KCC and Goyang Sono clinched spots in the six-team KBL playoffs, completing the field for spring basketball.

KCC defeated Changwon LG 74-65 on the road at Changwon Gymnasium on April 5 in a 2025-2026 LG Electronics KBL regular-season game.

The win moved KCC into a tie for fifth with Sono at 28-25, ensuring they finished ahead of seventh-place Suwon KT (26-27) and secured a playoff berth.

This is KCC’s first trip back to the postseason since the 2023-24 season. That year, KCC entered the playoffs as the No. 5 seed, knocked out KT and went on to capture the championship.

LG, which clinched the regular-season title, finished 36-17.

KCC’s Shawn Long recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Choi Jun-yong led both teams with 17 points to fuel the victory.

For LG, Yoo Ki-sang fought for 13 points but couldn’t keep his team from falling.

KCC closed the first half with a 42-31 lead.

LG mounted a third-quarter rally and tied the game at 56-56.

KCC answered in the fourth. Trailing 58-56, Song Kyo-chang, Choi Jun-yong and Hernandez combined for a 10-0 run to open a 66-58 advantage.

With 1:15 remaining, Choi made a free throw to extend the lead to 72-62, and with 42 seconds left Lee Ho-hyun scored in the paint to seal the win.

KCC later conceded an outside shot to Galloway, but closed out the game without further threat.

At the same time at Goyang Sono Arena, the home team Sono beat visiting Anyang Jeonggwanjang 65-61.

Sono, tied with KCC for fifth, clinched its first-ever playoff berth since the club was founded in 2023.

Jeonggwanjang finished 34-19 and failed to secure second place in the regular season; they sit 1.5 games ahead of third-place Seoul SK (32-20).

Sono’s Lee Jung-hyun exploded for 24 points. Kembao (16 points, 8 rebounds) and Knight (9 points, 16 rebounds) also delivered rugged, near–double-double performances.

For Jeonggwanjang, Kim Young-hyun (11 points), Byun Jun-hyung and O’Bryant (10 points each) battled hard but came up short.

At Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena, KT beat Ulsan Hyundai Mobis 73-69.

Despite the win, seventh-place KT finished two games behind co-fifth KCC and Sono and missed the postseason.

Hyundai Mobis, mired in a six-game losing streak, remained eighth at 17-36.

KT’s Williams led the way with 21 points.

For Hyundai Mobis, Hammons posted 13 points and 10 rebounds and Igbunu added 10 points and 10 rebounds, but their double-doubles weren’t enough.
