[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Changwon LG took a big step toward the 2025-2026 LG Electronics Pro Basketball regular-season title, beating Seoul SK 67-55 at Changwon Gymnasium on the 29th.

The win — LG’s fourth straight — moved the Sakers to 35-15, extending their lead to three games over second-place Anyang Jeonggwanjang (32-18) and strengthening their hold on the top spot.

SK fell to 31-19 and remained third.

Yu Gi-sang paced LG with 19 points, while Assem Marei recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

For SK, Ahn Young-jun fought through the loss with 19 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough.

LG carried a slim advantage out of the first quarter. SK scored early through Ahn Young-jun and Daniel, but Marei answered inside and Yu Gi-sang connected on a three to keep LG close.

Tamayo converted free throws and followed with a put-back after an offensive rebound. Yu Gi-sang’s perimeter shot pushed LG to a 22-19 lead at the end of the quarter.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern: tight defense on both ends. SK tried to chase behind Ahn Young-jun, but Yu Gi-sang stayed hot from deep.

Marei’s basket extended LG’s lead to six. SK answered with points from Daniel and free throws by Wony, but Yang Hong-seok hit a late outside shot and LG led 32-27 at halftime.

LG pulled away in the third. Tamayo opened with a free throw, then Yang Jun-seok, Marei and Tamayo scored in succession to push the margin into double digits.

SK responded with baskets from Kim Hyung-bin, Daniel and Ahn Young-jun, but LG closed the quarter on a roughly two-minute scoreless stretch for SK. Yoon Won-sang’s late three sent LG into the fourth up 52-43.

SK never recovered. Yang Hong-seok scored repeatedly inside and out, Marei added points in the paint and Yu Gi-sang stretched the lead from the perimeter.

Wony battled down the stretch for SK, but LG protected the lead and closed out the win.

Meanwhile, Busan KCC beat Daegu Korea Gas Corporation 87-77.

The victory moved KCC to 26-25, holding sixth place and boosting their playoff chances. Korea Gas dropped to last at 15-36.

Heo Ung poured in 31 points for KCC, and Shawn Long dominated the boards with 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Ra Gun-ah scored 27 and Sam Joseph Belangel added 21 for Korea Gas, but their efforts fell short.
