[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] The NC Dinos dominated the Doosan Bears in their home opener.
NC beat Doosan 6-0 in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League home opener at Changwon NC Park on March 28.
The Dinos left the ballpark celebrating after a convincing win to open the 2026 season, while Doosan fell to 0-1.
NC’s Koo Chang-mo — the only domestic pitcher to start on Opening Day among the league’s 10 clubs — delivered five strong innings, allowing two hits, striking out three, issuing one walk and surrendering no runs to pick up his first win of the season. In the lineup, Park Geon-woo had two hits, including a homer, and three RBIs.
Doosan starter Flexen was charged with the loss after four innings, giving up two hits, striking out three, issuing six walks and allowing three runs (two earned). Doosan’s offense couldn’t get anything going against NC’s pitching staff.
NC set the tone early behind Koo’s dominant start. In the bottom of the third, after Kwon Hee-dong drew a walk and an error put runners on first and second with one out, Park Geon-woo battled Flexen to a full count before launching a three-run shot to left that put NC up 3-0.
With the lead secured, Koo retired the Doosan lineup over five scoreless frames. The Dinos turned the game over to their bullpen in the sixth to protect the advantage.
NC extended the lead in the bottom of the sixth. After Seo Ho-chul walked and Choi Jeong-won executed a sacrifice bunt to create a two-out, runner-at-second situation, Kwon Hee-dong delivered an RBI single. Later in the inning, following an error that produced another two-out, runners-on situation, Davidson drilled a two-run double to push the score to 6-0.
With the game in hand, relievers Bae Jae-hwan, Lim Ji-min, Kim Jin-ho, Kim Young-gyu and Lee Joon-hyuk combined for four scoreless innings after Koo, shutting down any Doosan rally. The Dinos closed out a 6-0 victory.
