The Korea Canoe Federation (KCF), led by President Lee Haeng-sook, is set to host its 2026 Coaches and Referees Workshop.
The two-day event will take place on March 4th and 5th at the Goseong Youth Hostel in Goseong County, South Gyeongsang Province. The workshop aims to train referees for fair competition and develop skilled canoe coaches, furthering the sport’s growth in the country.
Day one of the workshop will feature crucial educational sessions. The Sports Ethics Center will lead a violence prevention seminar, while the Korea Anti-Doping Agency will conduct anti-doping training. The day will conclude with referee instruction and guidance from the KCF’s head of referees.
The second day’s agenda includes sports medicine and athletic training education led by Hwang Mun-hyun, a national team trainer. This will be followed by competition-related guidance from the federation’s competition committee chair. Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the workshop.
KCF President Lee Haeng-sook emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “Training referees and coaches is a vital role for our federation. We hope this workshop provides valuable insights and knowledge to all participants, contributing to the overall development of canoe sports in Korea.”
