Woori Financial Group announced on February 10th that it will dispatch a team of college student correspondents, dubbed ‘Team Woori Supporters,’ to Milan. Their mission: to bring the electrifying atmosphere of the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics directly to fans back home.
‘Team Woori Supporters’ aren’t just passive spectators. They’re the heartbeat of Team Korea, acting as passionate cheerleaders and real-time storytellers, capturing the raw emotion of the Olympic experience.
By partnering with Gen Z college influencers, Woori Financial aims to offer the next generation an unforgettable taste of the international stage while simultaneously opening new channels of communication with younger audiences.
From February 16th to 22nd, these lucky correspondents will live out a sports fan’s dream during their week-long stay in Milan. They’ll be right in the thick of the action for some of the Games’ most anticipated events, including the women’s figure skating free program and the nail-biting short track speed skating relay finals – events that will have the entire nation on the edge of their seats.
The team will capture the electric atmosphere through snappy, engaging short-form content and videos, instantly sharing these moments with fans back in Korea via social media.
But their work doesn’t stop when they leave the arena. The ‘Team Woori Supporters’ will dive into the local scene, visiting the ‘Korea House’ to document the passionate fan support and scoring exclusive interviews with athletes. They’ll uncover the stories behind the scenes that even the broadcast cameras miss.
\”The dynamic content our college supporters create will amplify the emotional impact of the Olympics for viewers back home,\” said Lee Jae-hyuk, Deputy General Manager of Woori Financial Group’s Brand Strategy Department. \”We’re committed to fostering more opportunities that connect future generations through the power of sports.\”
Woori Financial is going all-in on Olympic spirit, launching a multi-faceted cheering campaign to coincide with the supporter team’s mission. They’ve unveiled a new commercial starring popular singer-actress IU, branding themselves as the ‘Financial Group of the Republic of Korea.’ Since February 2nd, they’ve also kicked off a ‘Team Woori Cheer Event’ involving eight of their subsidiaries, further stoking the Olympic flame.
Sports fans can catch all the behind-the-scenes action and exclusive content from the ‘Team Woori Supporters’ starting February 17th. It’ll be available on Naver, Woori Financial Group’s official channels, and across the social media platforms of participating universities.
