[iNews24 Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Iran announced it will soon unveil a control system to manage vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

On the 16th (local time), state-run IRIB and other outlets quoted Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, saying that Iran had developed a professional mechanism to manage vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He said the system is framed to defend national sovereignty and to safeguard international trade.
Azizi said the system will be unveiled soon and that only commercial vessels and states cooperating with Iran will benefit from it.
He added the route would remain strictly closed to agents of the so-called “Liberation Project.”
He also said Iran would secure what it described as its rightful fees and charges — including costs and commissions — in exchange for the specialized services provided by the new system.
