On March 27, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office reviewed anti-corruption investigation measures to prepare for changes to the criminal justice system following the National Assembly’s passage of legislation establishing the Serious Crimes Investigation Office and a Public Prosecution Office.
The office said it convened anti-corruption chiefs from 18 district prosecutors’ offices at its Seocho-dong headquarters in Seoul to discuss the plans.
Agenda items included the operation of anti-corruption units under the new system, a firm response to entrenched local corruption, and measures to expedite case processing.
The Supreme Prosecutors’ Office said it will continue to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted by the public and will make its best efforts within the changing institutional environment.
