The People Power Party’s Candidate Review Committee (chair Lee Jung-hyun) announced on March 26 the results of its 15th candidate recommendation review for the nationwide local elections, which included Mayor Lee’s exclusion from the party slate.

The committee said it conducted a comprehensive assessment of local conditions and decided to hold a three-way primary among Seo Seung-woo, Son In-seok, and Lee Uk-hee to select the party’s nominee for Cheongju mayor in North Chungcheong Province.
