Kim Won-gyeom of SPOTV News reports that singer Wooz’s self-penned song \”Drowning\” continues its long run across South Korea’s major streaming charts.
\”Drowning\” has spent 70 straight weeks in the Top 10 of Melon’s Top 100 chart—the longest top-10 run in that chart’s history. That streak surpasses NewJeans’ \”Hype Boy\” (49 weeks) and BTS’s \”Dynamite\” (36 weeks), underscoring the song’s sustained appeal.
Since a reverse-chart surge that began in October 2024, \”Drowning\” has stayed near the top of major streaming lists. Riding that momentum, it topped Melon, Genie and Circle Chart’s 2025 year-end charts and reached No. 1 twice on SBS’s Inkigayo.
The song’s videos have drawn steady attention as well. The 2023 live clip for \”Drowning\” ranked No. 3 on YouTube Korea’s Popular Music Video Top 100 as of the 14th, and it has appeared on South Korea’s weekly popular music video chart for 81 consecutive weeks—the longest run on that chart. Wooz’s performance of \”Drowning\” in military uniform for KBS2’s Immortal Songs Armed Forces Day special surpassed 30 million views in late April and continues to climb.
\”Drowning\” appears on Wooz’s fifth mini-album, Uri (OO-LI), released in April 2023; Wooz wrote both the lyrics and the music. The track conveys the emotions that follow losing a loved one with delicate yet powerful expression, and music fans regarded it as a hidden gem even before its resurgence.
In March, Wooz released his first full-length album, \”Archive. 1,\” and remains active musically.
