Roy Kim will release Dasi Bulreobom — Bloom Again at 6 p.m. on May 20. On his official YouTube channel, he has been presenting a series called “Coverhae Bom,” where he offers stripped-down, personal takes on other artists’ songs. Praised for reinterpreting material in his own voice, he says this new collection reflects a deeper, more nuanced musical palette.
The album features six tracks. Roy Kim breathes new life into well-known songs spanning 1992 to 2013, including “앵콜요청금지” (Encore Request Ban), “스물다섯, 스물하나” (Twenty-Five, Twenty-One), “스마일 보이” (Smile Boy), “왜 그래” (Why Are You Like That), “한 사람을 위한 마음” (A Heart for One Person) and “바람의 노래” (Song of the Wind).
Roy Kim said, “In a world that keeps shouting at people who can never be adults to grow up, I hope my music—my songs—can offer even a small measure of comfort to fans who may have withdrawn a bit. I sang from the heart, wanting to provide warm consolation through music.”
He has appeared on variety shows such as Channel A’s Heart Signal 5 and remains active on the festival circuit and at university events. On July 11 and 12, he will hold a fan meeting titled The Roy Kim Show: Speaking, Listening, Singing to connect with his audience.
