[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] KBS2’s music talk show The Seasons — Sung Si-kyung’s Ear Boyfriend served up a stylish evening of performances from some of the country’s most talked-about musicians.

On the April 10 broadcast, the program hosted Hwasa, Roy Kim, Han Roro and the band KISS OF LIFE, each delivering memorable takes across multiple genres.

Hwasa opened with \”Good Goodbye,\” the song that drew attention as a celebratory performance at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. On The Seasons she introduced an exclusive classical arrangement, offering a fresh perspective on the track.

The artist admitted she hadn’t anticipated the song’s runaway appeal. “Honestly, I didn’t expect it to do so well,” she said. “More than aiming for chart success, I just wanted to put my feelings into the song.”

Fresh from her first solo concert in 12 years, Hwasa said she staged the show as a way to repay fans and to close out the Good Goodbye promotions. “It was one of the greatest joys of my life,” she reflected. Sung Si-kyung concurred: “Of course it’s gratifying when a song becomes popular, but performing in front of my fans is what truly heals me.”

Hwasa closed her segment with new single \”So Cute,\” diving into the crowd and reaffirming her star power with seasoned stagecraft.

In the show’s Two People segment, Roy Kim appeared as the first male guest and premiered a remake titled \”No Encore Requests,\” due in May, to an enthusiastic response.

Although Roy Kim has covered many songs over the years, he said releasing a formal remake album is a first since his debut 14 years ago. Sung Si-kyung teased him with, “Is my song not on the album?” which caught Roy Kim off guard. Si-kyung added with a smile, “I never say no to remakes. If someone does my song better, it brings the song new recognition; if they don’t, it proves my abilities.” Roy Kim joked that he avoided remaking Si-kyung’s work because he feared he couldn’t top the original.

Speaking about a recent solo concert, Roy Kim recounted a memorable moment: two audience members stood and shared an intense kiss. Si-kyung reacted with amusement to the changing norms around public displays of affection. Roy Kim quipped, “I agree — I hope more people come to my shows and kiss a lot,” and the pair joked about making their venues ‘kiss-free zones,’ prompting laughter in the audience.

The two then treated listeners to a duet of Roy Kim’s \”If You Ask Me What Love Is.\”

Next up was Gen Z rocker Han Roro, who opened with \”0+0.\” The bestselling author of Grapefruit Apricot Club, Han explained that he published the novel about a month before releasing the album, and that \”0+0\” served as the book’s soundtrack — a cross-media connection that sparked additional interest.

He reflected on winning Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards against heavyweights like Lee Chan-hyuk and Jennie. “I didn’t expect to win, so I had no prepared remarks. Memories flashed like a panorama, and I cried,” he said.

Han Roro also revealed that one of his biggest boosts came when BTS’s RM posted \”Ipchun\” to his social media story. “Just thinking about that still makes my heart race,” he said, and he then offered an impromptu live rendition of BTS’s \”Spring Day\” as a gesture of admiration.

Finally, KISS OF LIFE closed the show with their reinterpretation of 2NE1’s \”Lonely.\” Hailed as a self-made idol success story, the group said that after receiving their first payout they used it to support family members; member Bell said she moved her grandmother to a better home.

Fans of R&B, KISS OF LIFE said they often sing songs together that aren’t part of official promotions and treated the audience to an impromptu set. Their take on Michael Jackson’s \”Love Never Felt So Good\” ratcheted up the energy, playfully closing in on Sung Si-kyung and filling the studio with contagious enthusiasm.

Impressed by their skills, Sung Si-kyung offered warm praise: “I hope they become true superstars — so big that booking them on The Seasons will become nearly impossible.”

KBS2’s The Seasons — Sung Si-kyung’s Ear Boyfriend airs Fridays at 11:10 p.m.
