Structurally, the song tracks the hours from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., capturing the delicate intersections of love, solitude, desire, and emptiness. Direct lyrics like “Chasing a feeling that fades with the light” and “We’re just killing time” strip the relationship down to its essential uncertainty, inviting listeners into that familiar gray area of feeling.

Im Ji-woo’s forthright, stylish English lines and the song’s dreamlike production heighten the sense of emotional incompleteness. A recurring image — likening sweet but hollow feelings to a \”midnight snack\” — becomes a succinct, evocative motif that anchors the track’s mood.

Im first drew significant attention with last year’s EP ‘MISSING: 19,’ where she established a distinct lyrical sensibility.
