[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] BTS leader RM suffered an injury and will participate in the Gwanghwamun comeback performance in a limited capacity.
On the 20th, BigHit Music announced RM’s injury via its official channels. The agency said RM injured his ankle during rehearsal on the 19th and went to the hospital for detailed tests and treatment. Doctors diagnosed an accessory navicular sprain, a partial ligament tear, and a talar sprain — injuries involving ligament damage and inflammation.
Following medical advice to minimize movement and focus on recovery for at least two weeks, RM will take part in tomorrow’s (21st) Gwanghwamun comeback stage in a limited capacity. BigHit Music said it made the difficult decision together with the artist to restrict his movements.
The agency added that although his performance will be limited, RM intends to be on stage as much as possible to connect with ARMY and the audience. They say they will do their utmost to deliver a sincere performance for everyone who has been waiting.
Meanwhile, BTS released their new album ARIRANG at 1 p.m. today (20th). The group will hold BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG around Gwanghwamun Square tomorrow (21st).
