[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] aespa member Winter made a meaningful donation to support humanitarian causes and set a positive example.
On March 19, Winter donated ₩100,000,000 (about $75,000) each to the Korean Committee for UNICEF and the Samsung Seoul Hospital Patient Happiness Fund — a total of ₩200,000,000 (about $150,000). The funds are slated to help children affected by conflict and disaster, as well as patients facing difficult circumstances.
“I decided to donate as a meaningful way to share the love I’ve received from fans,” Winter said. “I hope people around the world who have lost their everyday lives for various reasons can soon return to peaceful routines.”
This donation builds on Winter’s ongoing philanthropic efforts. Last year she contributed ₩100,000,000 (about $75,000) to wildfire relief in the Yeongnam region. She has also participated with aespa members in funding fire suppression and relief activities in Hong Kong and donated a portion of concert proceeds to support wildfire recovery in Los Angeles.
With this gift, Winter has joined UNICEF’s major donors group, the UNICEF Honors Club, and has indicated she will continue her charitable work.
Meanwhile, aespa will resume the 2025–26 “aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: aeXIS LINE – ASIA” with a stop on April 4 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD) in Jakarta.
