Highlight’s Yang Yoseob Proves Solo Prowess with Chart-Topping Mini-Album Yang Yoseob, member of the K-pop group Highlight, has demonstrated his solo star power with the release of his third mini-album, which has quickly climbed the music charts.

The title track “Fade Away” from his latest EP “Unloved Echo,” released on February 9, has made an impressive debut. As of midnight on February 10, it ranked third on both Melon’s latest release chart (week 1) and Bugs’ real-time chart, while also securing a spot on Genie’s real-time chart.

All six tracks from the album, including “Dear My,” “Don’t Leave,” “Moonlit Mirage,” “Every Night,” and “Shine,” have simultaneously entered Melon’s HOT100 and latest release charts, as well as Bugs and Genie’s real-time charts, signaling a strong start for the release.

“Unloved Echo” is a conceptual album inspired by the final moments before a film fades to black, exploring the lingering impressions of a fading love. The title track “Fade Away,” penned entirely by Yang, showcases his deep vocals as he poignantly sings about a love slipping away. A teaser of the music video has already generated buzz with its dramatic performance, building anticipation for the full stage presentation.

During a countdown livestream on Highlight’s official YouTube channel on release day, Yang expressed his gratitude: “I’m overwhelmed to be back with a solo album after so long. Thank you for your patience, and I’m grateful for the support from my bandmates.” He revealed that the lyrics for “Fade Away” were born from “a desire to hold onto those blissfully radiant moments a little longer.”

Yang also impressed fans with a live performance of “Fade Away” on Dingo Music’s “TEXTED” series, where his exceptional vocal control and emotive delivery shone through. Fans have been flooding comment sections with praise, calling his voice “mesmerizingly narrative,” and describing the song as “a warm embrace at winter’s end” and “a cinematic experience with a lingering classical touch.” Many have noted the difficulty in choosing a favorite track, as “all six songs are stellar.”

This week, Yang Yoseob is set to make appearances on various music shows and content platforms to promote “Fade Away.”
