The creative musical “The Last Man” is set to make its triumphant return for a third season this March.
Production company Neo has announced that “The Last Man” will run from March 24 to June 7 at Link the Space Hall 1 in Seoul’s Jongno district.
“The Last Man” is a gripping one-man musical that explores human isolation and hope in a world overrun by zombies. Set in a bunker B-103 in Seoul’s Sillim neighborhood, Gwanak district, the show offers an intimate portrayal of a lone survivor’s secluded existence and psychological journey.
A standout feature of this production is its innovative approach to the survivor’s backstory, which changes based on the actor. Through nuanced variations in dialogue, actions, and props, each performer crafts a survivor with a unique social and personal history, resulting in distinctly different narratives within the same apocalyptic setting.
The pivotal role of the sole survivor in this zombie-ravaged world will be brought to life by a talented ensemble including Kim Ji-on, Hong Seung-an, Kim I-hu, and Kim Chan-jong.
This compelling piece is the result of a collaborative effort between playwright Kim Ji-sik, composer Kwon Seung-yeon, director Kim Dal-joong, and music director Hong Jeong-ui. The show runs for an intense 100 minutes without intermission.
A spokesperson for Neo described “The Last Man” as a poignant exploration of solitude and hope through the lens of a single person left in a devastated world. They added that audiences can expect each of the four actors to deliver a unique survival story, each with its own emotional arc and interpretative approach.
