[iNews24 reporter Kim Jeong-su] The Army Capital Corps announced on May 7 that it will hold its 2026 comprehensive anti-infiltration exercise from the 11th through the 15th across 23 cities and counties in southern Gyeonggi Province and parts of Incheon.
The exercise will test the robustness of plans through live counterterrorism and anti-infiltration drills at key facilities within the corps’ area of responsibility, including national critical infrastructure and high-traffic public sites. It is also intended to sharpen units’ on-scene response procedures for integrated defense operations.
Against a backdrop of shifting security conditions and the potential for provocations or attacks on critical infrastructure, the exercise will emphasize establishing an integrated defense posture. Civilian authorities, government agencies, the military, police and fire services will all participate.
A corps official said, “We expect significant movements of personnel, equipment, vehicles and helicopters during the exercise. The Capital Corps will station safety officers in training areas and operate a dedicated hotline to field residents’ concerns. We will do our utmost to minimize inconvenience to local residents.”
