[Sports Today Reporter Lim Si-ryeong] The film My First Graduation Ceremony has finalized its principal cast, led by rising talents Kim Jae-won and Jung Soo-bin, and officially rolled into principal photography.
The production confirmed the casting of Kim Jae-won and Jung Soo-bin and began full-scale shooting on the 8th.
My First Graduation Ceremony centers on Do-young, a high school girl yearning for an end, who asks a psychopathic transfer student, Do-ha, to stage the perfect accidental death. That request sets off a dangerous and audacious teen romance.
Kim Jae-won — whose credits include King the Land, Okssi’s Wife, Eun-jung and Sang-yeon, Lady Dua, and Yumi’s Cells Season 3 — takes on the role of Gu Do-ha, the mysterious transfer student who appears at a seaside small-town high school. He said he was hooked from the moment he read the first page and couldn’t wait to begin filming. “I’m truly happy to be part of a project full of clever ideas and compelling characters,” he added.
Jung Soo-bin, who has appeared in Juvenile Judgment, Trolley, Detective Chief 1958, It’s Okay, It’s Okay, It’s Okay!, and Fair Competition, joins the cast as Cha Do-young. She plays a high schooler who meticulously plans a staged accidental death. Underneath her quirky, bubbly surface, the role reveals a layered and tumultuous inner life — a performance expected to resonate deeply with audiences. Jung said she devoured the script the moment she picked it up, driven by curiosity about the ending, and vowed to do her utmost to convey the film’s fresh, youthful thrill.
Park Ho-san (My Mister, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint) will play Mansu, Do-young’s father. Heo Jun-seok, seen in Extreme Job, Melo Is My Nature, and UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces, will portray Jun-gi, Do-ha’s father. Lee Joo-young, from The 8 Show and It Will All Come True, joins as Do-young’s soulmate, Su-a.
The film is directed by Kim Jin-hwa, known for The Disappearance of Yoon Sinea, who is expected to bring additional creative energy to the project. The director said it’s meaningful to craft this tender story with actors who each bring distinct presence and chemistry, and he will do his best to achieve the strongest possible ensemble.
