[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Sports Today reports that actress Yeom Hye-ran’s likeness was used without permission in the AI film Geomchimwon.
On the 31st, her agency Ace Factory told Sports Today that it had confirmed an AI-generated video featuring Yeom’s image was uploaded to YouTube without authorization.
The agency said it never approved or consulted on the production of the video and has since had the clip set to private while requesting its removal.
Earlier the same day, Sports Donga reported that the teaser for the AI film Geomchimwon featured Yeom as the lead and claimed permission had been granted to use her likeness. Both the agency and the actress say they were unaware of any such approval.
The video remains set to private.
Meanwhile, Yeom Hye-ran is currently appearing in Mad Dance Office, and her film My Name Is is scheduled to open on April 15.
