Inside South Korea’s High-Tech Military: The AI and Robot Revolution

A Q&A session focused on operational applicability and potential shortfalls, and military personnel were given time to inspect equipment on site. About 200 people attended, including Jeon Jun-beom, director of the Defense Artificial Intelligence Planning Bureau; representatives from Army Headquarters, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation; and officials from the services, industry, academia and research organizations. The ministry said it will compile feedback from the services and related agencies on each project’s usability and required improvements, share those findings with participating firms, and work to advance their development prospects.
