Jin Tae-seok (Choi Jong-hwan) finally cracked under pressure. He was visibly shaken and confused, mistakenly believing that Cha Jung-won (Lee Si-ah) had consumed poisoned wine for his sake.
The KBS2 daily drama “Intimate Ripley,” which aired on the 10th, featured a gripping scene where Cha Jung-won pretended to drink poisoned wine to gain Jin Tae-seok’s trust.
Earlier that day, Jin Se-hun (Han Gi-woong) had a heated argument with Jin Tae-seok over a Swiss bank account issue and stormed out of the house. Concerned, Han Hye-ra (Lee Il-hwa) visited Se-hun’s office, where she spotted a suspicious vial he had been eyeing intently. Alarmed, Han Hye-ra summoned Cha Jung-won and Joo Ha-neul (Seol Jeong-hwan), warning them, “We need to be prepared for anything Se-hun might do.”

Their fears were soon realized. Jin Se-hun approached Jin Tae-seok with the vial in hand, a scene accidentally witnessed by Jin Se-mi (Choi Da-eum), who promptly informed Cha Jung-won. Later, Cha Jung-won caught Jin Se-hun red-handed spiking the wine in the kitchen. She saw this as an opportunity, thinking, “I can use this to make Jin Tae-seok trust me even more.”
The plan quickly unfolded. Jin Se-hun knelt before Jin Tae-seok, feigning remorse while offering him the tainted wine. However, at the crucial moment, Cha Jung-won’s intervention sent the situation spiraling in an unexpected direction.

When Jin Tae-seok challenged Cha Jung-won to drink first as a test of loyalty, she didn’t hesitate. After taking a sip, Cha Jung-won clutched her chest dramatically and collapsed, leaving Jin Tae-seok watching in horror.

But there was a twist. Cha Jung-won had anticipated everything and switched the wine beforehand. The actual poisoned wine had been discreetly passed to Secretary Yoon (Kim Eun-young). It was a masterful deception that fooled everyone.
Unaware of the truth, Jin Tae-seok lashed out at Jin Se-hun in a rage. “Jung-won drank poison because of you!” he roared. Jin Se-hun desperately pleaded his innocence, “I didn’t do it! Jung-won must have switched the wine!” Jin Tae-seok menacingly retorted, “If you really poisoned it, don’t count on staying alive.”

Later, Jin Se-mi recounted the scene to Jin Tae-seok, defending Cha Jung-won: “Sister Jung-won knew it might be poisoned, but she drank it for you, Dad.”
Hearing this, Jin Tae-seok grappled with conflicting emotions. “Is this what blood ties mean?” he pondered. “I’ve tried to kill her multiple times, knowing she’s my daughter. Why does my heart ache now?” His confusion was palpable.
Revealing his inner turmoil, he muttered, “I thought I had armored my heart,” hinting at a potential shift in his relationship with Cha Jung-won.
