Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it is launching Samsung Wallet Trips, a new feature that gathers travel essentials—boarding passes, hotel reservations, theme-park and sporting-event tickets, and more—into one convenient place.
Samsung partnered with global providers so users can add hotel and flight confirmations and activity or tour tickets directly to Samsung Wallet. By bringing travel information that was once scattered across multiple apps and platforms into a single Trips feature, the company says it improves convenience. Samsung plans to expand partnerships to offer an even wider range of travel content down the line.
Built on Samsung Knox, the service protects user data with encryption and biometric authentication so only the device owner can access travel information.
Users can create a Trips entry in Samsung Wallet and rely on the Trip Timeline to organize their itinerary by time and location. They can add detailed plans and use the notes feature to save related links and information, making trip planning more organized and stress-free.
Chae Won-chul, vice president and head of the Digital Wallet team in Samsung’s MX division, said the service will help Galaxy users manage travel information more intelligently so they can focus on enjoying their trips.
