Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province is hosting the 21st Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival from May 7 to 10 at the Yeongyang Cultural Center and throughout the downtown area.
Attracting more than 50,000 visitors each year, the Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival has become a springtime standout—celebrating the scent and flavor of wild mountain greens and drawing food-curious travelers from across South Korea.
Mostly mountainous and remarkably pristine, Yeongyang is renowned for the wild greens that grow around Ilwol Mountain. Varieties like durup, gomchwi, and eoseuri are prized for their rich aroma and satisfying texture, earning the region a reputation for top-quality produce.
This year’s festival leans into food as its centerpiece under the theme A Spring Feast Laid Out by Nature, pairing local flavors with hands-on experiences and storytelling.
Event spaces are linked so visitors can move naturally from one spot to another and discover a variety of offerings. A walkable layout that connects vendor stalls, the traditional market, a special stage, and a gourmet zone delivers a fresh, walk-and-savor festival experience.
Evening performances and atmospheric programs have been expanded to create a seamless day-to-night vibe. With more interactive activities and diverse food options, visitors are encouraged to linger and soak in the moment.
\”This year’s festival is designed to blend nature, gastronomy, and immersive experiences,\” a Yeongyang County official said. \”We hope many visitors come to Yeongyang and fully soak up the spirit of spring.\”
