A brand-new scheduled route connecting Sacheon Airport in South Gyeongsang to Seoul’s Gimpo Airport began regular service on the 30th.
Sacheon City confirmed the Sacheon–Gimpo route officially entered full scheduled service on the 30th.
Launched by Seom Air, the new route is poised to become a vital direct link between western South Gyeongsang and the Seoul metropolitan area. That makes travel a breeze for business travelers and weekend-getaway seekers alike.
Seom Air began irregular flights on the 12th and will operate four round trips daily on the regular schedule.
The airline deployed the latest ATR 72-600 turboprop from France’s ATR to ensure reliability and efficiency. The 72-seat aircraft can take off and land on short runways and is considered eco-friendly, using about 45% less fuel than comparable jets.
Officials expect the new service to dramatically improve air access between the Seoul metro area and western South Gyeongsang, boosting business travel, industrial activity, and tourism—and stimulating the local economy. With flights centered around peak commute hours, passengers should see tangible improvements in convenience.
Flights depart Gimpo at 07:20, 10:50, 14:20 and 17:50, and depart Sacheon at 09:05, 12:30, 16:05 and 19:35. Flight time is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Tickets are available on Seom Air’s official website.
“Establishing the Sacheon–Gimpo route marks an important step in expanding the regional air network,” a city official said. “We will continue to expand routes to offer residents more convenient air service and to drive local economic growth.”
