Busan Tourism Organization is rolling out a playful, hands‑on April Fools’ Day event for Busan City Tour riders on April 1.
On the 30th, the Busan Tourism Organization announced it will run a special program titled “Busan City Tour Will Fool You Right!” for passengers on April 1.
The event is designed to do more than show the sights — it invites visitors to join in. Tapping into the “funsumer” trend, which blends entertainment with consumer experiences, organizers put together activities that give riders playful moments and extra perks.
On event day, staff at the Busan Station city tour boarding area will join the fun: if an adult buying a ticket says, “I’m an elementary school student,” the staff will “happily play along” and apply the child fare.
There’s also a surprise called “We’ll give you a second‑floor bus.” Instead of a real vehicle, riders will receive a double‑decker bus–shaped paper toy as a cheeky April Fools’ keepsake.
The April Fools’ event runs on the Busan City Tour’s circular routes and is open to anyone boarding on site.
Riders can pair the event with visits to Busan’s best spring blooms. Top stops include Oryukdo Sunrise Park, where yellow daffodils carpet the grounds; Gwangalli Beach and the Samik Beach area in Namcheon‑dong, known for a cherry blossom tunnel; the cherry blossoms at Taejongdae, enjoyed via the Danubi train; and the Dongsam Haesucheon cherry blossom path near the National Maritime Museum.
Busan Tourism Organization officials said they hope the event will highlight the City Tour as “moving tourism content,” not just transportation. By combining seasonal sightseeing with interactive experiences, they aim to make visitors’ stays richer and more memorable.
“Tourism shouldn’t stop at getting to a destination — the journey itself should be fun,” a Busan Tourism Organization representative said. “We hope this small April Fools’ event gives domestic and international visitors a joyful, unforgettable memory of Busan.”
