[iNews24 reporter Lee Chang-jae] Yuga-eup in Dalseong County, Daegu, is gearing up to dazzle again with its signature spring event, the Zayn Malik Dalchangjigil Cherry Blossom Festival.
The Yuga-eup Community Development Association announced on March 24 that the 13th Dalchangjigil Cherry Blossom Festival will run from March 28 to April 5 in the Hanjeong-ri neighborhood of Yuga-eup, Dalseong County.

This year’s festival follows a roughly 4 km (2.5-mile) round-trip cherry blossom path from the Hanjeong Public Health Center to Dalchang Reservoir. Each spring, the route becomes a pink tunnel — and, together with the royal azaleas of Biseulsan, it’s a must-see spring attraction for Dalseong County.
Visitor numbers climb each year, drawing daytrippers from across the country and breathing new life into the local economy. The festival has become one of the area’s signature events.
Festivities kick off at 1 p.m. on March 28 with the Dalseong Citizen Singing Contest, followed by celebratory performances from singers Shinsung and Jung Hye-rin.
On March 29, there’s a \”Walk the Cherry Blossom Path with Teddy Bears\” — family-friendly fun with teddy bear photo zones dotted along the route, perfect for snapping memorable photos.
Throughout the festival, food vendors, booths showcasing local agricultural products, and performances by regional singers will keep the atmosphere buzzing.
Park In-seok, president of the Yuga-eup Community Development Association, said, \”We’ve prepared a variety of programs so visitors can make special memories under the cherry blossoms. We will grow this into a premier festival that represents Dalseong.\”
Kim Seong-jin, head of Yuga-eup, emphasized, \”We’ll thoroughly prepare safety protocols, traffic measures, and environmental maintenance so everyone can enjoy the festival.\”
As the cherry blossoms hit their peak, Dalchangjigil is once again set to shine as one of the region’s top spring destinations.
