Yeongju City announced on the 10th that it’s seeking travel agencies to participate in an “Agricultural Specialties Marketing Tour” aimed at boosting local produce consumption and tourism.
The city is launching the “2026 Agricultural Specialties Marketing Tour” to promote local attractions and encourage purchases of regional farm products by attracting group tourists from outside the area.
This initiative targets out-of-town travel agencies with proper registration. To qualify for support, agencies must bring groups of 20 or more tourists to Yeongju. The tour itinerary includes exploring Yeongju’s natural scenery and cultural heritage, as well as visits to local farm product markets for direct purchases.
Qualifying travel agencies can receive up to 660,000 KRW (495 USD) for bus rental costs. To be eligible, tours must include dining at local restaurants, visits to agricultural product vendors, and documented purchases. Agencies can claim the support funds by submitting receipts and supporting documents after the tour.
Through this marketing tour, Yeongju City aims to increase group tourism from other regions, promote local agricultural specialties, and stimulate the local economy.
Kang Mae-young, head of Yeongju’s Distribution Support Division, said, “The Agricultural Specialties Marketing Tour is our flagship promotional program, linking Yeongju’s unique natural and cultural attractions with our local farm products. We hope that strong participation from travel agencies and tour groups will provide a real boost to our local economy.”
