[MyDaily = Ryu Hanjun] Shohei Ohtani collected multiple hits and helped generate offense, but the LA Dodgers still came up short. On June 2 (KST), Los Angeles visited the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix.

In the top of the fifth, with one out and the bases empty, Ohtani turned on Emmet Sheehan’s first pitch and singled up the middle for an RBI, completing his multi-hit game. He led off the eighth with an infield single in what became his final plate appearance, but was retired at second on a double-play grounder by Freeman.
The Dodgers couldn’t hold a 1-0 lead. They struggled to add runs, and Arizona evened the game in the bottom of the sixth when Tommy Troy belted a solo homer off starter Emmet Sheehan — Troy’s first of the year.
Arizona took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases empty, Nolan Arenado swung at Sheehan’s first pitch and launched a solo shot to left for his eighth homer of the season.
The Diamondbacks put the game away in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs and a runner on first, Ketel Marte crushed a two-run homer — his 10th — giving Arizona the insurance runs they needed. The D-backs then turned to the bullpen to lock down the win.
Brandon Garcia and closer Paul Sewald each tossed a scoreless inning. Garcia picked up a hold — his fifth — and Sewald recorded his 15th save while carrying a 1-4 record on the season.
Taylor Clarke, Arizona’s second pitcher of the day, earned the win to go 2-1 with 11 holds on the year. Sheehan was tagged with the loss and fell to 3-2. The Dodgers remained in first in the NL West at 38-22, while Arizona stayed third at 32-27.
