▲ England’s Justin Rose posed with the trophy after sinking a putt on the 18th hole to clinch the win in the final round of the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines South Course in La Jolla, California, on Feb. 1, 2026.
[SPOTV News=Reporter Kim Geon-il] The PGA Tour announced Tuesday that Wisconsin-based insurer Sentry Insurance will be the new title sponsor of the tournament held at Torrey Pines in San Diego.
The event scheduled for Jan. 27–30 next year will be renamed The Sentry.
The tournament will be played across both the North and South courses at Torrey Pines. Since 1968, Torrey Pines has been a marquee West Coast stop on the PGA Tour, renowned for its dramatic views of the Pacific.
This year, organizers will conclude the event on Saturday rather than the usual Sunday to avoid a scheduling conflict with the NFL conference championship games.
Sentry has been the title sponsor of the season-opening event at Kapalua’s Plantation Course in Maui since 2018.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp expressed optimism in an official statement.
“The PGA Tour has staged top-level events in San Diego for 75 years, and for the past 60 years we’ve done so at the iconic Torrey Pines course,” Rolapp said. “I’m proud that, together with Sentry Insurance, we’ll build on that tradition and deepen our community engagement.”
Marty Gorsich, CEO of the Century Club of San Diego, welcomed the partnership. He said the club is very pleased to team up with Sentry, a long-time supporter of the PGA Tour, and praised the company’s strong record of community involvement.
Meanwhile, at this year’s Farmers Insurance Open in January, England’s Justin Rose claimed the title.
Rose shot a tournament-record 23-under 265, finishing seven strokes ahead of the runners-up. He also made history at Torrey Pines as the first player to win wire-to-wire, leading from the opening round through the final day.
