[MyDaily = Reporter Shim Hye-jin] Detroit Tigers reliever Go Woo-seok continues to press his case for a major-league call-up with another strong outing.
Go, pitching for Detroit’s Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens, recorded a hold on the 22nd (Korean time) with a perfect inning — one scoreless frame, one strikeout — in a 2026 Minor League game at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio, against the Indianapolis Indians (affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates). He threw 12 pitches.
After earning his first Triple-A win on the 21st with a perfect inning, Go followed up with consecutive appearances to maintain his momentum.
With Toledo leading 5-2, Go entered in the top of the 8th and retired the first batter, Davis Winsell, on a groundout to shortstop after a 92.9-mph fastball on the third pitch.
He then induced Tyler Colihan into a groundout to second on the fifth pitch, a 92.8-mph four-seam fastball.
Riding that momentum, Go struck out Rafael Flores Jr. swinging on a fourth pitch — an 80.2-mph curveball following a 1–2 count.
Yoniel Currette came on in the 9th to finish the game.
Go endured a difficult stretch earlier this season. While preparing for spring camp, he suffered a fractured right index finger during training.
After rehabbing and returning, he showed encouraging form at spring workouts in March, boosting expectations for the season.
He did not appear for South Korea at the WBC. Starting the year in the minors, Go posted a 20.25 ERA with one loss across two Triple-A appearances and was subsequently optioned to Double-A.
That sequence prompted movement from his former KBO team, LG. With closer Yoo Young-chan out following elbow surgery, LG general manager Cha Myung-seok flew to the United States to discuss a potential return with Go.
The two met several times and, after careful consideration, Go opted to continue his challenge in the U.S. LG agreed to respect his decision.
From that point, Go rebounded. He posted a 0.66 ERA across eight appearances and earned a promotion back to Triple-A on the 9th.
Through the latest game, he extended a streak of five consecutive perfect appearances at Triple-A. He recorded his third hold of the season and lowered his Triple-A ERA to 2.61.
