[Digital Today AI Reporter] Spain-based mountain-bike specialist Mondraker has unveiled the Anak, an aluminum gravity bike built for freeride and bike-park riding.
On May 25, mobility outlet BikeRumor reported that the Anak is a non-electric model—no battery or motor—and that Mondraker engineered it with downhill performance as the priority.
The Anak uses Mondraker’s Stealth Alloy construction for both the front and rear triangles. It pairs 170 mm (6.7 in) of rear travel with a 180 mm (7.1 in) fork up front. The Zero suspension platform blends the kinematic characteristics of the Surman and Zendit designs. Progression is 25%, anti-squat (segment reference) sits around 98%, and anti-rise is nearly 100%.
The bike features a mullet wheel setup: a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear. The flip chip offers two positions—’Standard’ and ‘Low’—but only adjusts geometry; it does not enable swapping the rear to 29 inches. A dual-crown fork can be fitted, though Mondraker recommends keeping travel at the specified 180 mm (7.1 in).
In the Standard setting, the head-tube angle is 63.5° and the seat-tube angle 77.5°. For the M/L size, reach is 480 mm (18.9 in), chainstay is 445 mm (17.5 in), and stack is 653 mm (25.7 in). Switching to Low slackens both angles and lowers the bottom bracket. Sizing runs S through XL, including an M/L option.
Mondraker will offer the Anak as two complete builds and a frameset. The Anak XR is priced at $6,000 and pairs an unpainted aluminum frame with an Öhlins RXF 38 M.3 fork and an Öhlins TTX22 M.2 coil shock. The build includes SRAM Maven-base brakes, a SRAM Eagle 90 T-type mechanical drivetrain, and e*thirteen Gravel Core wheels.
The frameset is $3,200 (about 4.81 million KRW) and closely matches the Anak XR spec, including an Öhlins TTX22 M.2 coil shock. The Anak R, priced at $4,600 (about 6.91 million KRW), uses the same frame finished in black and comes with a RockShox Zeb Base fork, a Vivid Coil Select+ rear shock, SRAM DB8 Stealth brakes, a SRAM Eagle 70 mechanical drivetrain, and WTB Sport Terra wheels.
